 A few remarks about today's housing market ....

This is still a buyer’s market in most regions of the country.  Short sales and foreclosures continue to dominate the market and median home prices are still trending downward. 

The prices of the homes featured to the right reflect this fact.  Both are being sold well below their true value.

Despite all the bad news in housing, the demand for rentals is relatively strong and should stay that way for a while.  For those of us who are invested in real estate, we remain at the mercy of a broken political system that cannot move this country forward.  Don't lose sight of this very real fact, however, real estate remains the best performing asset you can buy over the long term.  Besides the appreciation you enjoy, real property provides us shelter which is sometimes taken for granted in our abundant society.  It is both wealth building and essential to our survival and quality of life.
